Messiah offers many programs for youth including Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, confirmation, youth band, and social activities for different age groups. Older children take trips to national youth gatherings, ski trips, and do other fun activities that are more adventureous in nature.

Danny Hauan, Youth and Family Minister
Danny was born in San Mateo in April, 1987, and spent the first two years of his life living in Belmont. He then moved to to Sunnyvale where he spent most of his childhood years. He attended and graduated from Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, and is now a music major, having attended Sacramento City College, De Anza College, and San Jose State University. He loves working with children, and has been doing youth ministry since the summer of 2004, when he started working at Mt Cross Outdoor Ministries, the local Lutheran camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He worked there for four summers as a camp counselor, and built a lot of his life around his camp work. He has also worked with a couple of churches independently on Vacation Bible Schools and a Youth band at his home church in Sunnyvale. Vacation Bible Camp @ Messiah
August 3-7, 2009

K- through 6th Grade

Cost $95 ($75 for second, third, etc child)
Earlybird Registration (by May 1) $85 ($65 for second, third, etc child)

Led by dedicated staff from Mt. Cross Lutheran Camp in Felton (see related link), we will be hosting Vacation Bible Camp (VBC) this year from August 3rd through 7th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.We are looking forward a great year. We are also excited to announce that Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in San Carlos will be holding VBC the week following, from August 10th through 14th . We invite you to sign up at both sites and let your child(ren) enjoy two weeks of songs, crafts, games and general FUN!

High School Hang Out

Messiah Lutheran and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church have partnered together to provide a wide range of programs for the youth of the south peninsula. Each Wednesday, High Schoolers from both congregaitons gather together for a time of fun, discussion and Bible study led by our youth and family minister, Danny Hauan (see above). For the month of February, the schedule is:

During the Wednesdays of Lent (March 4,11,18, 25 and April 1) Holy Trinity and Messiah will be joining for mid-week soup and bread suppers and a time of worship. The High School group will meet following the mid-week program. The schedule for worship is
